Library

The library of the Faculty of Security Studies collects, stores, processes and issues for use library material organized in seven funds:

  • MAIN FUND (more than 6414 titles)
  • TEACHING FUND (working materials – over 20 titles, professors’ notes, textbooks – 2000 titles)
  • MAGAZINES FUND (newspapers, journals – over 190 titles)
  • FINAL PAPERS FUND (more than 600 titles for the last 5 years)
  • SPECIALIST STUIDES FINAL PAPERS FUND (over 600 titles)
  • MA THESES FUND (over 200 titles)
  • DOCTORAL DISSERTATIONS FUND (over 100 titles)
  • MASTER FUND (over 100 titles).

Through its activities, the library contributes to the improvement of the expert, teaching and scientific research work of the Faculty of Security Studies. In accordance with modern trends, the development of electronic library has been initiated. The new Faculty of Security Studies Library database incorporates data for books, doctoral dissertations and MA theses. Entry of data for magazines and analytical article processing have been planned for the forthcoming period. In that way, the Library database will be completed.

Installation of equipment for automatic book borrowing is underway. By the end of 2007, preparation for transition to automatic book borrowing tought to be completed, which will speed up the circulation of books considerably.

The library is available to its users from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, аnd from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Within the Library, there is a reading room with 24 seats, where material from library funds is possible. According to the library Rules of Regulations, students can borrow up to three books and keep them up to 15 days, except during the examination periods when books have to be returned within a week. As of March 1st 2005, the Faculty Council decided to introduce fees for exceeding the allowed periods for keeping borrowed books in the amount of 5.00 dinars per book per day.

The Library database may be accessed through the Svetozar Marković University Library, COBISS|VBS, or through the National Library of Serbia mutual e-catalogue.
